April is shaping up to be a busy (and very exciting) time here at Emma Jayne Bridal — and if you’re a bride in the middle of planning, you’re going to want to keep this date free.
Two events. One day. And somehow… I’m at both at the same time.
If you’re in full planning mode (or even just getting started), the Kapiti Wedding & Events Expo is one of the best places to begin.
You’ll meet a range of local vendors, get ideas flowing, and actually have real conversations (instead of guessing your way through everything online at 11pm).
When: Sunday 19 April 2026
Where: Paraparaumu Memorial Hall
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
I’ll be there chatting all things bridal alterations — from timelines and costs to what’s realistic (and what’s maybe a bit optimistic).
Then at 12pm, Gina will be taking over my expo booth… and I’ll be teleporting over to:
Just a short drive away, Sip & See is a more relaxed, immersive experience with a small selection of our favourite wedding vendors. Brides are invited to step inside our Kapiti bridal boutique in the Wellington region and experience the warmth, romance, and inspiration that makes us one of the most magical places for Wellington wedding dresses.
When: Sunday 19 April 2026
Time: 12:00pm – 2:00pm
Where: 7–13 Seaview Road, Paraparaumu Beach
Marisa from Glam Me Up – Bridal makeup demonstrations
Angela Enoka – Bridal hair in action
Blank Canvas Events – Décor and styling inspiration
Alice Trinari – Styling tips for the perfect wedding look
Stiletto Studio – Wedding cake tasters
Sam Morrell – Cheesecake shot glasses
Meadow & Tea – Bridal floral displays
Hanna Clark & Emma After – Celebrants ready to chat about your ceremony
Arose.Creative & KeeSue Creative – Photography and content creation guidance
Emma Jayne Bridal – Visit our studio down the corridor and chat all things bridal alterations (or just come see where the magic actually happens ✂️)
It’s less “busy expo energy” and more “wander in, have a chat, sip something nice, and actually take it all in.”
So… Which One Do You Go To?
Honestly? Both.
Because of the crossover, you can:
They’re only a couple of minutes apart, so it’s very doable — just wear comfortable shoes and commit to being a little bit bridal-chaotic for the day.
Where I Fit Into All This ✂️
I’ll be at the expo as your bridal alterations specialist — the person who takes your dress from “almost” to this is actually my dress now.
If you’ve already got your gown, come chat to me about:
What needs to be altered
When to start
What it’s likely to cost
If you haven’t chosen your dress yet, even better — I can help you set realistic expectations from the start.
Bridal alterations aren’t an afterthought — they’re a normal (and essential) part of the process. Most dresses aren’t made to fit you perfectly off the rack, and that’s completely expected.
I can alter just about anything… the real question is:
Is it worth it?
What’s it going to cost?
And what are you actually signing yourself up for (especially with online purchases 👀)
A quick chat now can save you a lot of stress later.
Final Thoughts
Planning a wedding can feel like a lot… but this is one of those rare days where everything comes together in one place.
You get ideas, clarity, and actual helpful conversations — not just more tabs open on your phone.
So come along, say hi, and make a day of it 💛I’ll be the one talking about hemlines, bustles, and gently breaking the news that no… it’s not “just a quick nip in.”
